Topic: Migrating Legacy Trip Systems
Presented by
Mike Palamarek
Director, Cybertech Automation
Evolving safety system standards, industry regulations and obsolescence issues are driving the need for new Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). Migrating from legacy trip systems based on hard wired relays, pneumatic devices, non-certified PLCs or obsolete SISs is a complicated activity. This presentation will outline strategies and methods used on successfully completed projects that migrated legacy systems while the plant was running and during turnaround situations.
